The renewed Voglia offers a guarantee for its clothes
Finnish brand Voglia has just launched the Voglia Product Promise concept, which focuses on responsibility: valuing clothes and maximizing their lifespan. The Voglia Product Promise consists of three components: a one-year product warranty, repair, tailoring and maintenance services, and a selection of high-quality clothing care products and instructions.
Clothing care is a very current and trendy topic, but offering a guarantee is still quite rare in the fashion industry. “The principle is the same as in electronics, for example,” says Voglia CEO Katriina Virtanen. “We have always invested in quality and the longevity of our products. For us, a guarantee is a way to make this even more visible to our customers and encourage them to consume responsibly.”
No company can completely avoid human error , but with a warranty, responsibility can be taken for them. Voglia does not just replace its products with new ones and throw away defective ones, but always strives to repair or service them as a priority. Voglia's product warranty covers manufacturing and material defects and is valid for one year from the date of purchase, provided that the product has been cared for according to the washing instructions and maintained in a manner suitable for its intended use.
“We offer repairs as a purchase service for our older clothes, even vintage treasures,” says CEO Virtanen. Voglia's products are known to remain beautiful and usable for decades, so renewing, for example, snaps or zippers extends their lifespan even further.
The Voglia Product Promise is designed to help consumers love their clothes for longer and steer them away from the fast fashion culture. An essential part of clothing care is independent cleaning and maintenance at home, for which Voglia offers carefully selected care products, such as knitting combs and laundry bags. The future goal is to add easy instructions on how to use the products to the brand's website and social media channels.
Voglia received funding for the development of its new business model from Tex-Inno ry, which distributes grants to promote the sustainability and climate work of domestic textile and fashion companies. Funding was awarded to projects that stood out for their innovation and the broad applicability of their results.
“We are lucky to have received support for our project and are eagerly awaiting our customers' reactions – it is also interesting to see how we might be able to tailor and maintain old Voglia clothing,” Katriina Virtanen reflects enthusiastically.
Voglia is a Finnish fashion house and family business founded in 1983, whose products are of high quality and timeless. The brand has six stores in its home country and a total of 23 employees. Voglia's collections are designed in Finland, and in 2020, 72% of all production was made in the company's own factories in Estonia, which employ 21 local professionals.
