A summer of garden parties and city adventures

Finnish fashion house Voglia is heading into summer with optimism. The brand's fresh collection is inspired by simplicity and a slow lifestyle, luxurious sustainable materials, and adventures in the countryside and cities.
“Although nature is a traditional inspiration and a somewhat clichéd subject, we must admit that pandemic life has truly taken us back to our roots and further emphasized the importance of connecting with nature for well-being,” says Paula Polkumaa, the clothing brand's chief designer.
Voglia's goal is to create beautiful, timeless and high-quality products that will last from generation to generation, which is also reflected in the brand's latest models.
"In our design, we want to combine the company's solid expertise and history with modern materials and designs that appeal to consumers of all ages. We are fascinated by the encounter between timelessness and topicality, as well as classicism and a charming new kind of mystery," says Polkumaa.
He describes Voglia's SS21 collection as a celebration of natural beauty and a captivating party in a fairytale villa. The collection's clothes and accessories feature an abundance of natural materials, such as linen, silk and cotton.
“Now, for the first time, we also offer viscose chiffon made from bamboo. The material feels wonderful on the skin and drapes wonderfully,” says Voglia’s CEO Katriina Virtanen with a smile. Two products have been sewn from bamboo, the Ellen blouse and the Eileen dress, which have just been launched in several color options.
In addition to high-quality materials, printed fabric patterns are an important part of the new Voglia. This summer's products include Merihelmi, an abstract depiction of archipelago landscapes, and a rich floral pattern called Hehku - both created by the brand's own pattern designer Salla-Maaria Syvänen.

Although the global state of emergency has brought many changes to Voglia's operations, Katriina Virtanen, who took over as CEO of the family business in the fall of 2019, is steadily steering the brand renewal forward.
“Our goal is not only to attract new domestic customers but also to target international markets,” Virtanen says, adding that he is happy that the first renewed spring festive collection looks sparkling and arrives in stores just in time for the easing of corona restrictions.

Voglia is a Finnish fashion brand and family company founded in 1983 , whose products are responsible, high-quality and timeless. The brand has eight stores in its home country and a total of 28 employees. Voglia's collections are designed and planned in Finland. In 2020, 72% of the total production was manufactured in the company's own factories in Estonia, which employ 21 local professionals.
