Wearable art - Voglia numbers a batch of its patterned jackets

Coco jacket with Merihelmi pattern

“We designed a new patterned Coco padded jacket for our AW20 collection, decorated with our beautiful Merihelmi pattern. The garment is made in a limited edition, and each product is numbered. It's like a series of graphic art - in wearable form,” say Voglia designers Paula Polkumaa and Salla-Maaria Syvänen.

The product is a good example of the collaboration between the new designer duo. The jacket with its practical details was drawn by head designer Polkumaa and the surface pattern was designed by Syvänen. The Merihelmi pattern is inspired by archipelago views, water and shells, which the designer has painted in a soft abstract form. The color scheme of the pattern is a gentle and fascinating combination of timeless pink, rosewood red, deep black and Baltic blue.

The Coco jacket is sewn from water-repellent recycled polyester, which is made from used plastic bottles. Voglia already uses several sustainable materials, and the company aims to significantly increase their share in its range in the coming years. The renewed fashion house, while respecting its traditions, invests in sustainability and offers individual options for modern consumers. Voglia is known for its quality, and for example, the brand's winter jackets are customers' favorites due to both their style and functionality.
Voglia strives to manufacture its products in moderation, anticipating demand, so that surpluses are kept to a minimum. Small production batches are therefore commonplace for the company, but numbering the products is a new experiment that not only aims to emphasize exclusivity but also to make consumers understand the value of an individual garment. “Clothes can also be treasures and collector's items,” says CEO Katriina Virtanen with a smile.

The numbered jacket batch will be available exclusively in the brand's online store in late November.

Voglia is a Finnish fashion house and family company founded in 1983, whose products are responsible, high-quality and timeless. The clothing brand has eight own stores in its home country, as well as an online store and a total of 36 employees. Voglia's clothes are designed in Finland and approximately 80% manufactured in the company's own factories in Estonia, which employ 25 local professionals.
